“A TRIBUTE TO OUR HEROES”: COMMUNITY CHORALE’S 2014 PATRIOTIC CONCERT
General Event Information
In honor of Independence Day, the Plant City Community Chorale has dedicated its 2014 Patriotic Concert on Saturday, June 28th, to some of our country’s greatest national treasures: the men and women of the Armed Forces. PCCC has invited four area veterans who will represent those who served from World War II, Korea, Viet Nam, and the more recent Persian Gulf Operations. These guests will be introduced during the concert; and any audience member who is an active duty or veteran will be recognized during The Pride of America, a medley of all the service branches’ anthems.
Included in the music selected for this evening of national celebration are the Navy Hymn, Eternal Father, Strong to Save, as well as our National Anthem and our National Hymn, God Of Our Fathers. In addition to more recent patriotic works, standards such as The Battle Hymn of the Republic, God Bless America, Stars And Stripes Forever, and Taps will be performed.
While the 7:30 p.m. concert is free to the public, PCCC is accepting donations at the door (open at 7:00 p.m.) or on-line (www.pccommunitychorale.com). Concert sponsor Hopewell Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens—with other local businesses—has joined with PCCC to give all net proceeds to Fisher House Foundation, a nation-wide non-profit providing a network of “home away from home” residences located near major military and VA medical centers where military families stay free while their loved ones receive treatment. Anyone who also wishes to become a patron or donor may contact PCCC on-line or by calling 813-781-9674.
Reserved Admission tickets, however, are required as First Presbyterian Church, 404 Reynolds Street, Plant City, has limited seating; and—based on previous Patriotic Concerts attendance—PCCC is anticipating standing-room-only. The Reserved Admission tickets are available from any PCCC member, on-line at www.pccommunitychorale.com, or at The Greater Plant City Chamber of Commerce office. If available, there will be admission tickets at the door.
The Plant City Community Chorale is a 501(c)(3) Not for Profit organization providing educational, cultural, musical, and social experiences to enrich its members and audiences living in the communities surrounding Plant City.
