The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the producer of the public affairs program Florida Matters and to assist in the production of other news programming that airs on 89.7, the NPR station licensed to The University of South Florida Producer will have knowledge and experience in broadcast production/audio equipment, demonstrate journalistic skills in researching topics and guests, conduct interviews, have knowledge of FCC rules and regulations, demonstrate professional ethics, possess a strong collaborative work ethic, and have excellent communications skills. Producer will use the following software and/or application programs NewsBoss, Adobe audition, Filezilla, Next Gen and Word.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Broadcasting or communications and 1-3 years of radio broadcasting operations, on-air production or traffic systems. The equivalent number of years relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement. A master’s degree in the fields listed above may also substitute for the combined education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications: On air announcing experience, experience working a membership campaign This position requires a demo tape of 4-7 minutes in length demonstrating on air or production experience. This position will be expected to drive to conduct interviews and will be expected to possess a clean Florida Driver’s license.
Salary: $35,000 - 45,000
