IntellisMedia can provide complete uplink satellite services over unsecured analog C band facilities. This uplink capability can be used to distribute live or pre-recorded news, sporting events, teleconferencing, interviews or classes to satellite receive sites using domestic or international satellites.

Satellite transmission costs do not vary with the number of receive sites, a potentially cost effective transmission for reaching multiple locations.

How to Schedule a Satellite Uplink


•		Orders for uplinks should be processed through IntellisMedia. IntellisMedia works with WUSF to provide the equipment and services for studio and program origination. These services include playing back videotaped feeds, producing live programs, interviews and teleconferences.

Uplink cost can vary a great deal based on the customer requirements.

Some of the factors that can affect the cost include:

• Time of Day
• Location of Receive Sites
• Other, supporting services required such as:

•	Studio Time
•	Production personnel
•	Make-up
•	Appearance Coaching sessions (must be booked in advance of uplink)





	Number One
•	1 hour of total uplink time (including 30 minutes of test, thus providing 30 minutes of “on-air” time)

•	Non-prime time 10:00 am – 3:00 pm)

•	Receive site on the East Coast of the US

•	Minimal studio set up and dismantle (1 grip for 1 hour)

•	1 hour of studio time

•	1 hour of personnel (1 camera person, 1 audio tech, 1 grip, 1 makeup professional)

	Approximate cost: $1,400.00 - $1,600.00

	Number Two
•	1 hour of total uplink time (including 30 minutes of test, thus providing 30 minutes of “on-air” time) Non-prime time (10:00am – 3:00pm)

•	Receive site on the East Coast of the US

•	More complex studio setup (1 grip for 2 hours)

•	2 hours of studio time

•	2 hours of personnel (2 camera people, 1 audio tech, 1 grip, 1 makeup professional)

	Approximate cost: $1,900.00 - $2,100.00
