You'll need a computer and an internet connection (preferably broadband). If you want to take your podcasts with you, you'll need a portable digital audio player. You will need a software program (sometimes referred to as “podcatching” software) that can manage your podcasts; WUSF 89.7 recommends iTunes from Apple (Version 4.9 or higher includes Podcast support.) Click here for an extensive list of podcatcher software.
Once you choose and install the podcatching software, you're ready to subscribe (for free) to your favorite podcasts and listen at your leisure. Podcatching software, like iTunes, will automatically update podcasts if configured to do so. It can also synchronize podcasts with your portable digital audio player so you can hear them while you're on-the-go.
