Guests: Ashley Rhodes-Courter - A product of the foster care system who was placed in 14 foster homes in 9 years, many of which were abusive, before finding a good home in Crystal River. She has now dedicated herself to speaking out for foster children across the country. Ashley has spoken about this issue at the White House, in congress and on national radio and TV shows. She is the author of a book about her experience entitled Three Little Words. Nick Cox - Sun Coast Regional Director for the Florida Department of Children and Families – Mr. Cox oversees all of the DCF activity in Pasco, Pinellas, Manatee, Sarasota, DeSoto, Hillsborough, Charlotte, Glades, Hendry, Lee and Collier counties. Diane Zambito - Executive Director of Connected by 25 – Connected by 25 is a community initiative that engages youth, public/private partners and policy makers to improve outcomes for foster youth through investments in services and programs.
Their mission is to ensure that foster care youth are educated, housed, banked, employed and connected to a support system by age 25.
