Florida Matters “Wired and Worried ” (June 1, 2007)

Newspaper used as a fis wrapper.

A physical newspaper possesses certain undeniable advantages over its online version.

Financial losses in recent years have forced newspapers to lay off reporters and cut other key positions. Many blame the money problems on an industry that's trying to play catch-up with non-traditional media.

This week we look at how newspapers are trying to adapt to an internet world with our guests:

Janet Coates, Executive Editor and Vice President, Tampa Tribune

Ben Eason, President and CEO, Creative Loafing

Ellyn Angelotti, Interactivity Editor, Poynter Institute

Join WUSF's Carson Cooper for Florida Matters Friday evening at 6:30 pm, and Saturday at Noon, on WUSF 89.7, your NPR Station.
