Tampa Bay Prepares for the Big Storm

Despite two very active hurricane seasons, the Tampa Bay area has yet to suffer from a direct hit. Emergency Operations Center (EOC) directors Chuck Johnston, Ed McCrane, and Gary Vickers discuss how prepared the region will be when the big storm strikes our area.

Carson Cooper has been a favorite of listeners as Host of "Morning Edition" on WUSF 89.7 since 2000. He also reports for other WUSF 89.7 broadcasts. Carson has worked in Tampa Bay radio for more than two decades.

Susan Giles Wantuck has hosted "All Things Considered" since 1997. She also reports for other WUSF 89.7 broadcasts. Susan is a second generation journalist; her father, Martin Giles, is a veteran broadcaster in Tampa Bay .
