The pursuit of personal excellence characterizes a lot of what drives athletes to compete. Whether it's a pick-up game of basketball, running a lonely mile or two, or playing in a championship game in front of a world-wide audience, athletes will tell you it's all about performing at their best.

And when an athlete has to overcome great physical challenges to compete, the story becomes even more compelling. "Stories for Winners" is a collection of such stories. Listeners will hear about professional athletes who beat adversity to compete at the highest level of competition, as well as younger athletes who battle the odds to simply get in the game and do their best on the field.

Thanks to generous funding from the Glazer Family Foundation, "Stories for Winners" is available on CD for distribution to area schools and service agencies for the visually impaired.
