Democrats in Tampa Rejoice as President Obama Cruises to Re-Election

The mood at the party at Tampa's Museum of Science and Industry was pretty mellow for the first several hours. But electricity started to flow through the crowd as President Obama picked off one swing state after another. Just as Hillsborough County Democratic Chairman Chris Mitchell took the stage, MSNBC's big screen announced the president had gone over the the top.

WATCH: World War II Bomber Flight Over Tampa Bay

The "Memphis Belle," a replica World War II B-17 bomber flew over Tampa Bay today, carrying a bombardier who served aboard a similar craft for 28 missions over war-torn Germany. "I couldn't control myself. I was on the plane and tears came to my eyes. I was thinking of all the men we lost," said William Yepes, after a ride at his familiar station in the nose of the plane.
