Over 2,000 years ago, the religious life of the Jews was almost extinguished by the ancient Greeks. But a band of Jews, practicing Judaism in secret, returned to the holy city and rededicated the Second Temple in Jerusalem. Their courageous acts form the focus of Hanukkah, the Jewish Festival of Lights.
