Anba Tonel: Acoustic Music Series is a multi-organization initiative designed to bring established artists of Haitian origin to the Bay area to promote the unique blend of Haitian Creole culture. The project will showcase 4 events for the year 2013. These artists will be singers, poets, painters and other talents, some of which are based locally. The events will be bilingual in nature but an emphasis will be made to communicate to the English speaking audience to ensure musical engagement between artists and participants in the events. The artist(s) will take advantage of the intimate setting to perform an acoustic sampling of their work. In addition, they will discuss the Haitian culture, the messages in their art and will be available to individually engage the event attendants.
