Canning 101 Workshop
Whether you are new to canning or just need a refresher course, this basic canning workshop is a great starting point. Lisa Fulk, of Sunshine Canning, a Cornell-certified Master Food Preserver will be teaching this course. The focus of this workshop will be on using a boiling water bath to properly can and store your produce. Special consideration will be paid to maintaining personal safety, canning equipment, and the science behind the process. Once mastered, this method will enable you to safely and confidently can everything from jams to pickles to fruit! During this hands-on workshop, participants will make their own dilled green beans from fresh Sweetwater beans. All supplies are included and participants will take home a jar made in the class.
