American Watercolor Society Traveling Exhibition and Florida Suncoast Watercolor Society Exhibition

ArtCenter Manatee is proud to be one of six venues nationally selected to present the 142nd Annual Traveling Exhibition in the Kellogg Gallery in Bradenton, FL January 15 - February 28 2010. Bradenton is the only stop in the Southeast and offers visitors and locals alike the opportunity to celebrate some of the best watercolor paintings in the world. The American Watercolor Society is a nonprofit membership organization that began in 1866 to promote the art of watercolor painting in America. Each year the Society holds a juried exhibition of watercolors from artists throughout the world. The AWS Traveling Exhibition brings some of the biggest and most talented artists in water soluble media together into one show. The original juried exhibition, hung in March 2009 at the Salmagundi Club in NYC contained over 100 entries, 40 of which have been chosen for the traveling show with over half having won awards. As an accompaniment, the Florida Suncoast Watercolor Society will present works by their members in the Searle and Reid Hodges Galleries. FSWS is comprised of artists from 7 gulf coast counties representing some of the best watercolor talent in the south.

The suggested donation to the exhibition is $5 per individual.
