Per Chet Atkins: "[Richard Smith is] the most amazing guy I know on the guitar. He can play anything I know, only better." Per Tommy Emmanuel: "If you like my should hear Richard Smith!"

RICHARD SMITH & JULIE ADAMS: (Guitar, Cello, some vocals). Please join us for an exhilarating musical experience as guitar virtuoso Richard Smith takes center stage at the UU Dome. Richard will be joined by Julie Adams, one of the most diverse cellists on the music scene today. At the UU Dome concert, their repertoire will include a wide variety of instrumental and vocal music such as: Scott Joplin Rags, Sousa marches, Mozart, folk songs, standards, Chet Atkins and Jerry Reed tunes, Django Reinhardt gypsy jazz, Bach, Beatles tunes, pop tunes, Chopin, originals, lightning fast barn-burners, and beautiful ballads.

This promises to be an outstanding evening of virtuosic musicianship. The combination of Richard's dazzling technique and Julie's lyrical style will melt your heartstrings, have your toes tapping and your jaws hanging open.

Local guitarist GLEN HINES will open. Glen learned to play the guitar during the folk music boom of the late 50s and 60s. Early influences were John Stewart (Kingston Trio) and Noel "Paul" Stookey (Peter, Paul & Mary). Later influences were Chet Atkins and Jerry Reed. His other major influence was and is his brother Bob, who is an excellent guitarist. Glen is a member of the Tampa Bay FingerStyle Players Club, Tampa Bay FingerStyle Guitar Guild and the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society.
