Herb Alpert and Michael Franks
With an instantly recognizable and distinctively relaxed and economically-spoken instrumental style, trumpeter, bandleader, producer, composer, arranger, record company executive, artist and philanthropist Herb Alpert has made in indelible mark on the music industry.
Five #1 hits, eight GRAMMY® Awards, 14 platinum and 15 gold albums and 72 million albums sold worldwide kept Alpert and his Tijuana Brass on a par with The Beatles, Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra. Herb is joined by his wife, vocalist Lani Hall (Sergio Mendes’ Brazil 66 band). They will perform selections from the Great American Songbook and their latest release, I Feel For You, which includes The Beatles Here Comes the Sun and Peggy Lee’s Fever.
Opening the show is smooth jazz singer-songwriter Michael Franks, whose hits include Popsicle Toes; When I Give My Love to You; Monkey See, Monkey Do; Tiger in the Rain; Rainy Night in Tokyo; When Sly Calls (Don’t Touch That Phone); Your Secret’s Safe With Me and Island Life.
