Jazz at Two Presents the Billy Marcus Trio
General Event Information
The Jazz Club of Sarasota's "Jazz at Two" 2012-2013 concert series continues with the Terry Myers Quartet (December 7, 2012); the Billy Marcus Trio (December 21, 2012); and Marc Maninno (December 28, 2012). The series, which was founded in 2001, showcases the region's top jazz performers on Fridays, 2-4 p.m., at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Sarasota, 3975 Fruitville Road, Sarasota. Tickets are $7 for Jazz Club members and $12 for non-members. A portion of ticket sales is directed to the Jazz Club's scholarship program. For more information, call 941-366-1552.
The Billy Marcus Trio performs on December 21, 2 p.m. The group features Billy Marcus on piano, Mark Neuenschwander on bass and Steve Bucholtz on drums. Billy Marcus has played with some of the biggest names in jazz, including Stan Getz, Dizzy Gillespie, The Bill Evans Trio, The Horace Silver Quintet, McCoy Tyner, Maynard Ferguson, Dexter Gordon and Sonny Rollins. In 1982, Marcus was named "Miami’s Best Musician" by Miami/South Florida Magazine. Marcus is a regular performer at jazz festivals around the world.

The Jazz Club of Sarasota's mission is to promote, preserve, and educate people about jazz, the original American art form. Founded in 1980 by the late Hal Davis, the club presents ongoing concert series, events, lectures and the annual Sarasota Jazz Festival.
