Michael Anthony Nigro will appear in concert at First Presbyterian Church of St. Petersburg on Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at 7:30 p.m. The church is located at 701 Beach Drive N.E., St. Petersburg, Florida. His upcoming concert program, “Journey Through Latin America,” has brought much critical acclaim, and has been described as offering a first-rate concert experience brimming with musicality and engaging commentary. The program features compositions from Isaac Albéniz, Francisco Tárrega (Spain), Antonio Lauro (Venezuela), Gentil Montaña (Colombia) José Luis Merlin, and Jorge Cardoso, (Argentina). Hailed as one Southern California’s most talented guitarists, Nigro is acclaimed for his expressive playing and well-developed technique. The event is free and open to the public.

“Nigro is an excellent guitarist, drawing a multitude of tone colors from his instrument and displaying great technical dexterity. He has a wide dynamic range, a very pretty sound, and an ability to vary his articulation for expressive purposes.” Jim Ruggirello, Long Beach Gazzette

"His program was fresh, passionate, and wonderfully executed. For several of us, Michael Nigro's salon recital was truly one of the most enjoyable concerts in recent memory." Mark Bisesi, Bloomington Classical Guitar Society

Michael’s discography includes 3 solo guitar CDs: Homage to Piazzolla (solo guitar 2005), Guitar Sudamericana (solo guitar 2007), A Journey Through Latin America (solo guitar 2012) and 2 flute and guitar CDs: Between Flute and Guitar (2009), and As in Dreams (2011).
