Evening Masterwork

Each weeknight at 7:00 PM join Susan Giles Wantuck, Bethany Cagle and Russell Gant for some of the best music ever written. Music that’s good enough to earn the title “Masterwork.” Listen for full length performances and large scale works like Carmina Burana, Mahler Symphonies, some new recordings and music that will be performed in our local concert halls. A full masterwork is featured each weeknight at 7:00 PM on Classical WSMR 89.1 and 103.9.

Sunday Baroque allows you an opportunity each week to explore Baroque and early music (written before 1750). Composers such as Bach, Vivaldi, and Handel were the cornerstones of this era, with masterpieces including the Water Music, Royal Fireworks Music, and the Brandenburg Concertos.

Sunday Baroque celebrates the current wealth of recorded repertoire available, with great performances by yesterday's and today's best performers.

SymphonyCast is a two-hour weekly program featuring a full-length concert by a national or international symphony orchestra. Concerts are drawn from Europe's leading ensembles, along with U.S. orchestras, including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, The Philadelphia Orchestra and The Cleveland Orchestra.

Each one-hour program presents pre-collegiate musicians in live performances that are combined with lively interviews, unique pre-produced segments, lighthearted sketches and musical games.

Performance Today

Performance Today is a two hour weekday program which features classical music in concert from American Public Media studios and sites across the nation and around the world, as well as classical music news, interviews and features. Fred Child hosts each weekday, and brings you some of the most remarkable live concert performances…sometimes within hours after they were performed!
