Rain One Welcome Sight, Courtesy of Alberto

Tropical Storm Alberto has perfect timing for the city of Tampa water supply. Its reservoir was so low, there was only enough water for two weeks - according to Sandra Anderson, deputy director of the Tampa Water Department.
ANDERSON: This rainfall is a welcome, welcome sight. Now for those people out there having to maneuver and travel and the flood it will bring, it's not what they're looking for but for the overall drinking water supply for the city of Tampa, this is exactly what we needed.
In fact, Tampa's water supply was so critical the Southwest Florida Water Management District had to help out. Lois Sorensen is the district demand coordinator.
SORENSEN: The district actually issued an emergency order allowing the city's wholesale supplier, Tampa Bay Water, to put water into the city's reservoir.
She says regional groundwater levels are normal.
