Insurance Reformers Visit the Bay Area
![]() |
So far the Insurance Reform Committee has met five times.
Committee members - appointed by the governor - have heard from industry experts, from commercial property owners and private residents as well as school districts. All are struggling with insurance rate hikes - as well as lower levels of coverage or cancelled policies.
During their September meeting in Tallahassee - Chairwoman - Lt. Governor Toni Jennings distributed suggestions gathered on the committee's web site: My Florida Insurance Reform dot com.
JENNINGS: We don't have many suggestions. We have a lot of thoughts, but not many suggestions.
What Jennings wants are solutions.
The reform committee meets this Thursday from 9 to 4 at St. Petersburg College EpiCenter Collaborative Lab in Largo.
