President Stumps for Buchanan in Sarasota

The president came to the Sarasota-Bradenton International Convention Center to stump for Vern Buchanan. He's running for the 13th Congressional District, which is centered on Sarasota and Manatee counties.
Mr. Bush mentioned Buchanan's name at the beginning and end of his 20-minute speech. He instead discussed tax cuts and foreign policy, focusing on the threat posed by Islamic radicals. The president said the nation has a right to take the fight overseas.
BUSH: The American people must fully understand that the vast majority of Democrats oppose the right of this administration to have a tool necessary to protect you. We just have a different view - they must not think we're at war. They must think that the best way to protect you is after the attack.
Buchanan, who owns automobile dealerships, is facing an uphill fight against Democrat Christine Jennings, who used to run Sarasota Bank.
