He thanked all Floridians who opened their hearts, homes and wallets in his run for governor. He said his opponent and the Republican Party spend almost $50 million on the general election.
DAVIS: And desptite that to finished with just a seven-point margin, we won the Hispanic vote
Davis was pleased that Democrats gained new seats in congress. But does not regret his departure just as his party has gained control.
DAVIS: I wish my successor well, Kathy Castor, Ron Klein, hopefully Christine Jennings. I'm thrilled for them, it's an exciting time for the country, we need change. I don't regret my decision for a second to run. I'd do it all over again if I had to.
Davis says he's not decided on his future but added that But plans to stay active on Florida issues.
