Tom Lee Loses Bid for State Chief Financial Officer

Senate President Tom Lee staked his political future on a campaign which portrayed him as a political maverick. He ultimately lost Florida's CFO race to a Democrat who had never held public office.

He says winner Alex Sink would do well to follow through on her commitment to act independently as CFO.

LEE: There's such a disconnect between campaigns and the way candidates conduct themselves as elected officials and I've always tried to be very consistent, and I just encouraged her to follow that same path. And I'm sure she will.

Sen. Lee says he looks forward to spending time with his family and is looking for new ways to serve his community.
