Florida Freshmen Head to Congress
The freshman class of the 110th Congress begins today learning the ins and outs of Washington politics.
Congresswoman-elect Kathy Castor headed to nation's capital with what she called a clear mandate.
CASTOR: There's a message in common throughout the country that people expect high ethical standards out of their elected officials. That means members of Congress.
Ethics reform is among her top priorities as is Medicare drug reimbursement reform - an issue Castor shares with her Hillsborough County Commission replacement - Rose Ferlita.
CASTOR: She's a pharmacist. So, she knows how important it is to reform Medicare part D. So, we're going to work together. Even though we're different political parities, we represent the same constituents.
Castor will be sworn into Congress January 3rd.
