Snow in Denver Affecting Travelers in Tampa

Tampa Airport
TAMPA -

It's the busiest time of the year for Tampa International Airport, with more passengers and scheduled flights than usual.

Spokeswoman Brenda Geoghagan says things are going smoothly so far, but bad weather in Denver is having an effect on flights.

GEOGHAGAN: We have on a daily basis five non-stop departures and five non-stop arrivals, so of course those have been cancelled. That's impacting United's low-cost carrier Ted and Frontier.

Geoghagan says travelers should check the status of their flights with the airlines. She also recommends people traveling on domestic flights get to the airport two hours before departure time and international travelers should check in three hours before the plane takes off.
