Marlene Rose is a small woman and if you had to guess what she does for a living, you might not guess that she spends her time scouring junkyards for found objects or working around furnaces and blow torches. The Clearwater-based artist has been called the female answer to foremost glass artist Dale Chihuly. Rose's glass sculptures will be showcased at the Gulf Coast Museum of Art in Largo, starting this weekend.
