Florida's Insurance Gamble
![]() |
LAKEWOOD RANCH -
Floridians could save more than 500-dollars per household on insurance premiums according to an actuarial report.
That is if Congress were to establish a national catastrophic fund to cover disaster losses in all states.
Until then, the Florida catastrophe fund is on the hook for up to $32 billion in losses should a massive storm hit. Its a frightening but necessary gamble according to one lawmaker.
