Doctor Says the Cure is Cleaner Skies
This week we're focusing on Florida's changing energy policy. As you've heard here on WUSF 89.7, Governor Charlie Crist is planning on capping carbon emissions. It's not clear what changes those caps will bring and how much it will cost. The governor says the details are a work in progress. Dr. Todd Sack is closer to that process than many. The Jacksonville-area physician is also the chairman of the Florida Energy Commission's Climate Change Advisory Group. WUSF's Susan Giles Wantuck spoke with Dr. Sack recently, and he says every state trying to curb greenhouse gases goes through growing pains. After all he says, look at what Pennsylvania has been going through. That state's government shut down over a proposed electric utility surcharge.
