Regional Transportation Agency Starts Up

TAMPA -

For years, people have been calling for a regional approach to ease the commuting crunch that afflicts motorists trying to get to and from work every day. But getting all the various government agencies together has proved elusive - up to now.

Friday morning, the first meeting will be held of the Regional Transportation Authority. It's made up of officials from seven counties, from Citrus to Sarasota.

Problem is, they have no money. Governor Crist vetoed a million-dollar startup earlier this year.
