Nonstop Push at Tampa Airport
![]() |
TAMPA -
Getting from here to there - especially when 'there' is in another country - can be trying for many Tampa Bay travelers. That's because Tampa International Airport has nonstop flights to only seven foreign cities. And most of those are in Canada.
Monday, several dozen people went to the airport to press their case for more nonstop flights, particularly to Latin America.
Airport officials say they need the public to step up and write letters to the airlines. They say that's the only way the carriers will know there is enough demand to warrant non-stop flights.
