Loss For Alzheimer's Patients

Florida lawmakers are looking to make budget cuts to help balance the state's books. Officials at the Johnnie B. Byrd Alzheimer's Institute wish lawmakers will look at some thing other than research dollars. In all, ten million dollars in cuts are expected. But even when the state had budget money, the Byrd Institute was often slated for budget cuts. The uncertainty means the center will struggle to attract top researchers, as well as possibly lose Federal grants.
