Health Officials seek Mandatory Vaccine
The sudden death of a USF freshman is forcing college health officials to take another look at the Florida policy on meningitis vaccines. The Florida College Health Alliance is recommending the Board of Governors tighten exemptions for the vaccination, remove the stipulation requiring the vaccine for on-campus residents only and track health center administered vaccines on a statewide database. WUSF's Susan Giles Wantuck spoke to the F.C.H.A. Chair, Lesley Sacher, the director of FSU's Thagard Student Health Center.
