Sarasota Election Glitches

SARASOTA -

Optical scanners broke down at three Sarasota County precincts. That meant that some votes had to be locked away before they could be counted after the polls closed.

This is the first countywide election after Sarasota's touch-screen voting machines were scrapped after thousands of votes for the local Congressional race were not counted in 2006. Dent says aside from the three broken machines, no other glitches were reported.
