She's a Writer First

She's an educator, a civil rights activist, historian, playwright, actress, but most of all, Dr. Maya Angelou says she is a writer. Her love of the human voice and words began as a young girl, when she says she was a 'voluntary mute' soaking up the words around her. Angelou spoke with WUSF's Susan Giles Wantuck.
