Contemporary composer Augusta Read Thomas is not a household name, even among classical music fans. But her peers consider her a musical giant. Thomas has composed for the most prestigious orchestras in the world and last year her 'Astral Canticle' was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for distinguished musical composition by an American. This Sunday afternoon at four, the USF Symphony will be performing some of her works at the Palladium in St. Petersburg. WUSF's Coleen Cook reports.
