Welcome USF Polytechnic

USF's Board of Trustees gave its OK this afternoon to renaming the the USF Lakeland campus. It will now be known as USF Polytechnic - if state lawmakers and Gov. Crist approve.

Now, the university is fishing for money to build a new regional campus along Interstate 4, northeast of Lakeland. They're requesting $15 million this year, and say they need $35 million over the next three years. The funding is making its way through both the state House and Senate. But if the money is not found this year, an agreement with a local developer to donate the land could collapse.
