Bill Targets Predatory Teachers

It seems like every time you flip on the television, another teacher faces criminal charges for inappropriate behavior with a student. In Hillsborough County alone, at least four teachers have been arrested in the last school year. Over a dozen states are considering legislation to strengthen screening and reporting of teachers' sexual misconduct, but Republican Congressman Adam Putnam of Bartow says a national standard is needed to stop offenders from endangering students
