Judge Tosses Democrat's Lawsuit
A U.S. District Court judge deliberated for ten minutes before rejecting activist Victor DiMaio's lawsuit. The suit claimed the national Democratic Party was practicing reverse discrimination by allowing only two new states to have early primaries. He claimed South Carolina was chosen for its large black population, and Nevada for its heavy representation of Hispanics.
But the judge ruled there is no proof the DNC is discriminating against anybody. DiMaio's attorney says he plans to appeal to the federal appeals court in Atlanta, and hopes the U.S. Supreme Court will hear the case.
