Floridian to Nominate Obama

TAMPA -

A former Hillary Clinton delegate from Florida is reportedly the one who will put Barack Obama's name into nomination at the Democratic National Convention. WUSF is tagging along with delegates at both political conventions, this week in Denver and next week in Minneapolis to get a sense of what they see.

Tampa native Ana Cruz was among the hundreds of Hillary Clinton delegates who met this afternoon with their candidate. Cruz says the senator told them that she cast her ballot for Barack Obama but would not tell her delegates how to vote.

Cruz voted for Clinton but plans to support Obama.

In addition she says fellow Clinton delegate, Florida Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz was selected to put Obama's name into nomination.

Cruz says the choice signifies that the Obama Campaign understands the need to include Clinton supporters and realizes the importance of Florida.
