Help Finding College Money

TAMPA (2009-02-20) -

Getting accepted into college is one thing - paying for it is another especially in these financial times. There is help those with limited income. The event has become known as "College Goal Sunday."

It can be a daunting task - paper work - like the FAFSA, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.

That form is essential for students looking for grants, scholarships and other federal financial aid for college and training.

Braulio Colon is with ENLACE Florida and coordinated this year's College Goal Sunday.

"Not only are we targeting high school seniors who are prospective college students, but also students in trade schools and technical schools," Colon says, adding that students already in college can get help too because the FAFSA form must be renewed every year.

More than 25 organizations are working together to offer free financial aid application assistance this weekend in nine cities.
