Canadian Ambassador Visits Tampa
When you're in a good relationship, it's sometimes important to point it out. Canada's ambassador to the United States told a Tampa audience Thursday 400,000 Florida jobs can be traced directly to Canadian trade. Michael Wilson urges we don't succumb to buying only American products.
"You put up some trade barriers in your country; I retaliate, because my people force me to retaliate," he says. "And it feeds on itself and that's very bad news particularly when you have an economy in the trouble that the global economy is in now."
Ambassador Wilson says Canadians consume some $200 million worth of Florida citrus products each year.
