Local health agencies say there are no reported swine flu cases in Sarasota, but that does not mean the threat has passed. Congressman Vern Buchanan says today's extra effort is a valuable exercise.

He says there are concerns that the flu could go dormant for a few months and then flare up just as hurricane season peaks - and people are forced into the close proximity of a hurricane shelter.
