New Poll: Sink Rising
|CFO Alex Sink|
A new poll puts Alex Sink, the state's Chief Financial Officer, just ahead of Attorney General Bill McCollum in their quest to succeed Charlie Crist. Sink was supported by 38 percent of those polled, compared to 34 percent who favored McCollum.
Peter Brown is with Quinnipiac University's polling institute. He says this time, the political affiliations of each candidate were included in the question. And that, he said, is not a currently a plus for Republicans.
But the poll also gave McCollum a higher job approval rating - 51 percent, compared to Sink's 39 percent. Brown says that may be because McCollum - who has run for multiple races in the past - has a higher name recognition with voters.
