Parks, After-School Programs May be Cut
Hillsborough County Administrator Pat Bean is proposing cuts of $140 million over the current budget. That means 700 people might lose their jobs. But what has many people up in arms are cuts planned in how many days parks are open - and after-school care.
Mark Thornton is head of the county's parks and rec department, which handles after-school programs. He says he'll likely look for volunteers willing to help keep the parks and services operating.
