TAMPA (2009-09-22) -

The group's thoughts turned to America's place in the world - about the use of "soft" power versus military force. About how our foreign aid should be used to educate women and children in developing countries. Tampa is one of seven cities where the forums are taking place. The results will be sent to policymakers in Washington, D.C.

Will Ferroggiaro is with the non-partisan research group Fund For Peace, which is sponsoring the events.

"I think some of the things will will say in the report will be for politicians to take with some warning," says Ferroggiaro. "If you don't address these things - about the education problem in this country, about using human capital, about not looking for such immediate results - both in terms of government and in terms of business - people are fed up with that."

Two more forums will be held in Tampa. The first is tonight at the Jewish Community Center, on Gunn Highway in northwest Hillsborough County, and Wednesday night at the American Legion post on Kennedy Boulevard, just west of Dale Mabry Highway.
