While serving in Afghanistan, Senior Master Sergeant Rex Temple cemented a friendship with Georgia Army National Guard Specialist Christopher “Kit” Lowe. Temple even featured Lowe’s antics on his blog. Lowe is now back in the states after being shot. He’s rehabilitating at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington D.C.
Lowe took leave to visit Temple’s wife Liisa and to help with the Temple’s school supply drive for Afghan students at the USF Bulls game this past weekend. He visited WUSF’s studios to talk with Temple who is still in Afghanistan. The Tampa airman started off filling Lowe in on details of his recent V-M-O or Village Medical Operation.
WUSF is following Senior Master Sergeant Rex Temple. He is more than halfway through his final deployment to Afghanistan. He gets a two week break next month and will spend it with his wife.
