In his first visit to Tampa since the election, President Obama announced more than a billion dollars for high speed rail and faced tough questions about his economic policies.
Clearwater small business owner Steve Gordon expressed frustration at how hard it's been to get a business loan.
He wants the Small Business Administration to lend the money, not the banks.
"Why can't you use the SBA, just like you lent directly to Wall Street, you lent directly to the automakers, you lent directly to the banks, why can't you make small business loans directly to us?" Gordon asked.
The President said the training required for the SBA to accomplish such a task would take too long and lead to more frustration. Ultimately, Mr. Obama said the vast majority of small business loans will come from the private sector.
