Governor-Elect Rick Scott Begins His Transition

TAMPA (2010-11-4) -

Governor-elect Rick Scott announced members of his transition advisory board Thursday in Fort Lauderdale. And he put out essentially a big "Help Wanted" ad, looking for people who want to serve in his administration.

Scott said at the top of his qualifications list is a willingness to work hard.

"They have to be committed to our goal of more jobs, more private-sector jobs, and less government," Scott said. "They have to be optimistic people with a heckuva lot of energy. They've gotta look at everything with a fresh eye, can't go back and say 'We can't do that because we've always, it's never been done that way.'

If we're going to make change and we're going to improve this state, we've got to look at things differently."

Scott also said he will be out every day selling businesses on the state.

"My whole job is to go around the state and go around the country and go around the world and say, 'We want you to do business in Florida,'" Scott said.

His advisory committee includes former Lieutenant Governor Toni Jennings and several other staffers from former Governor Jeb Bush's administration. It also includes Senator George LeMieux and Lakeland state Senator Paula Dockery.

Scott asked those interested in working with him to visit www.ScottTransition.com.
