Mica Clears Way for Tolls on I-4

TAMPA (2011-7-20) -
Sometime soon, there may be toll lanes on Interstate 4 through Orlando. That's because Congressman John Mica has ended his longstanding opposition to the idea, according to the Orlando Sentinel.
Mica serves as chairman of the House Transportation Committee. He's proposing a new road-funding bill in Congress that would keep the current lanes on interstate highways toll-free. But states would be allowed to add new lanes that require a toll.
Mica said gas taxes aren't enough to cover the cost of widening, improving and maintaining roads in Florida and the rest of the country, so tolls may be necessary.
