Community Leader Remembers Lee Roy Selmon
Friday is the funeral of Tampa Bay sports legend- former Buccaneer Lee Roy Selmon. A Community leader shares part of the story in Selmon's contributions.
Selmon supported Abe Brown Ministries which helps ex-offenders in Tampa. Selmon shared his ideas and his time as a speaker to fundraising events.
President of the Ministry Robert Bluont had just asked Selmon to give a presentation to the Pop Warner Little Scholar's League in East Tampa. The topic was integrity.
Bluont compares Selmon to Rev. Abe Brown, who died last year.
"Their yays were yay; their nays were nay," said Bluont. "The words that they spoke always aligned with their actions and that's the true definition of integrity."
Despite the loss of two mentors, Bluont is still optimistic.
"It's taken an emotional drain and the flip side of it is they're probably in heaven right now starting the HFL."
Instead of flowers, Selmons' family has asked for donations to Abe Brown Ministries.
